The workshop phone problem
A garage phone is loud, constant and mostly repetitive. Roughly the same handful of questions arrive all day, and every one of them pulls a mechanic away from billable work or gets ignored until the caller books somewhere else.
- Nobody can answer with gloves on, under a car, or with an impact wrench running.
- Peak calling hours are exactly your peak working hours.
- Seasonal spikes — tyre changes, holiday checks, cold mornings — flood the line for weeks.
- Callers asking 'is my car ready?' block the line for callers who want to book new work.
What the agent handles
Service and MOT bookings
Licence plate, mileage, make and model, what the customer wants done and preferred days. Arrives as a structured request, not a scribbled note.
Repeat questions
Opening hours, price of an MOT or oil change, whether you supply a courtesy car, which brands you service, where to leave the keys.
Status calls, without the interruption
The agent takes the plate and the question, and your team answers in one batch instead of ten separate interruptions.
Breakdowns and urgency
A stranded customer is flagged immediately by SMS or WhatsApp with the location and the plate.
A booking call, shortened
Structure of a call the agent handles alone. Your own wording and rules are configured in the dashboard.
Autobedrijf Peeters, how can I help?
I need an MOT, my car is due this month.
I can note that down. What is the licence plate?
12-ABC-3.
Thank you. Which days suit you best, and would you like the small service done at the same time?
Thursday or Friday, and yes please.
Noted. The workshop confirms your slot by phone or text today. Anything else?
You keep your number and your workflow
Forward your existing workshop line on busy, on no answer, or outside opening hours. Nothing changes about how you plan work — the requests simply arrive as text with the plate already in them.
Questions from garage owners
- Can it read our diary and book slots directly?
- Today it captures the request with preferred days and your team confirms. Direct calendar booking is on the roadmap; we would rather capture a clean request than confirm a slot we cannot guarantee.
- Will it quote prices?
- Only the prices you give it — MOT, oil change, diagnostics. Anything else it takes as a request for a quote.
- Which languages?
- Dutch, Polish and English, and the summary can be in a different language than the call.
